Welcome Back!

Hello! Welcome to my new and improved blog! I’ve finally decided on the theme, I think it’s just gorgeous, don’t you? I suppose you’ll be wanting the Grand Tour now.Β  I’m sure you’ve noticed the three pages ^^^, Home is still home, I should start you off with that. Home is where you can find my most recent blog posts all in one place.

To the right of home, you’ll find Kitsch. Kitsch is my new “About Me” page. If your looking to get in contact with me please check it out!

The last of our lineup is Krafty. I have listed for your use, my Ravelry and Etsy links there, enjoy!

I’m sure you’ve also noticed the sidebar to your right >>>

It’s changed a bit now. At the top theres a little search bar that will find anything on my blog. Just below that is a list of my most recent posts. Clicking any one of them will take you directly to that post. Then there is a list of blogs I follow and a jumble of categories if your looking for something in particular.

Now for some exciting news! I didn’t get the chance to tell you about the October designers challenge yet did I? Well it’s a really great one with wonderful prizes πŸ™‚

The Challenge is to create a cowl/infinty scarf, using cables, with a theme of autumn leaves. You can view the entire page here on Ravlery.

Anyhoo, I’ve been working on mine and I just can’t wait to show it to you!

Oh, I do have to go now, but please enjoy exploring the new blog without me!

By Golly!

I’ve finally decided to dedicate myself to this blog! I really havn’t in the past at all..well you know that all ready :-). Well starting now I will try to post something every day Tuesday-Friday and try to make it interesting as well!

Well thats really all I have to say for now. To finish I’ll give you a lovely song by The Beatles that’s one of my favorites, even if they are wearing funny costumes.

St.Patrick’s Day! It’s coming round the bend with all the leprechon’s prepared to whack you over the head with a sheleighly sticks(they are very temper-mental you know). So the question is…How are you really supposed to celebrate Saint Patrick?

Well, the one thing that has never failed me on a holiday is (a) Candy and (b) Decorations and nothing says, “Welcome, you crazy leprechon’s!” like four-leafed clovers!

When I was really little, I thought that it was three-leafed clovers that were the lucky ones and I could never understand why everyone always had such a hard time finding them! πŸ™‚

So, now that I know that I should have been looking for four leaves, I’m going to make some to try and draw the little green Irish in my direction πŸ˜‰ tonight I think I’ll make a clover chain to replace my Halloween paper chain that now swings atop my door πŸ™‚

I’ll be using Julie Kundhi’s wonderful tiny four-leaf clovers pattern on Ravelry and joining them all with a chain πŸ™‚ (this is where most of my creativity both begins and ends)

Look around and try to find the little greenies, they love to hide all around and study us you know πŸ™‚

For Starters…

Hiya! If you’d like to know a little bit more about me feel free to head on over to the About Me page and check it out!

Seeing as how this is my “First impression” on you, I guess I’ll tell you about my Inspiration Techniques πŸ™‚

Firstly, there’s the Designer’s Challenge group on Ravelry. It’s an absolutely wonderful community to be a part of :-). How it works: On the first of every month, Cassidy(the creator, moderator and administrator) Posts a challenge. The challenge has three requirements to be fulfilled in order to qualify. The Theme, things like “Mushrooms”, “City” and “Media” have all been used. The Object, Basically what it is you have to create, It could be a hat, gloves, doll or anything really!. The final part is the Technique, This is the fun part(and the hardest part)! It can be anything from cables to duplicate stitch! I will(most definitely) be having a seperate page just for Designers Challenge updates πŸ™‚

Some of my designs made from the challenges there:

August's Challenge

December's Challenge

November's Challenge

And these are only my published designs πŸ™‚

Next, I get a lot of my inspiration from older fashions and items from the 1920’s, 50’s and 60’s.

I also find inspiration in the media(Newspapers, t.v. shows, movies and even commercials!)although I tend to lean to the older media, (Fred Astaire, Vintage magazines, etc.) which may sound strange to many people who watched and looked at such things as younger people themselves and that someone that is younger now can find anything in black and white, but I do! Things like my Flashback Headband And my Spat that Cat!

Were inspired by the 1920’s fashions πŸ™‚

One last thing before I bore you to death with words :-). If you’d like to see any of my patterns that I have for sale, You can see them here on Ravelry πŸ™‚
