Welcome Back!

Hello! Welcome to my new and improved blog! I’ve finally decided on the theme, I think it’s just gorgeous, don’t you? I suppose you’ll be wanting the Grand Tour now.ย  I’m sure you’ve noticed the three pages ^^^, Home is still home, I should start you off with that. Home is where you can find my most recent blog posts all in one place.

To the right of home, you’ll find Kitsch. Kitsch is my new “About Me” page. If your looking to get in contact with me please check it out!

The last of our lineup is Krafty. I have listed for your use, my Ravelry and Etsy links there, enjoy!

I’m sure you’ve also noticed the sidebar to your right >>>

It’s changed a bit now. At the top theres a little search bar that will find anything on my blog. Just below that is a list of my most recent posts. Clicking any one of them will take you directly to that post. Then there is a list of blogs I follow and a jumble of categories if your looking for something in particular.

Now for some exciting news! I didn’t get the chance to tell you about the October designers challenge yet did I? Well it’s a really great one with wonderful prizes ๐Ÿ™‚

The Challenge is to create a cowl/infinty scarf, using cables, with a theme of autumn leaves. You can view the entire page here on Ravlery.

Anyhoo, I’ve been working on mine and I just can’t wait to show it to you!

Oh, I do have to go now, but please enjoy exploring the new blog without me!

School Blues, Reds and Greens

I know, I know, I havn’t posted in days. I’ve thoroughly given up on daily posting! I shall simple post when I have something interesting ๐Ÿ™‚ Although I’m sure you’ve noticed by now the new page up top? ^^ “WIP Workroom” is where I’ll keep a record of all of my WIP’s (“Works in Progress” for you non-ravelry users) just in case your curious ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve started school and feel thoroughly confused and lost in it, but that is to be expected…during the first week ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m sure by now some of you are wondering about the title…well at least the colorful parts ๐Ÿ™‚ Well then lets shake things up a bit shall we? Lets start at the very end (a very good place to start).

Green – I’ve been stuck at the heel flap of my Ribbed Ribbons socks I told you about in my last post because of some crazy counting reasons (“Down With The Calculator” is NOT a good campaign, I’ve proven it) and they are very very Green.

Now lets skip to the beginning.

Blues – See “Greens”, they make me blue ๐Ÿ™‚

Reds – O.0 ….. You expected me to have a purpose for everything? …Oh…Woops… ๐Ÿ™‚

Now some unrelated colors that I DO have a purpose for!

Beige – I’m not sure if any of you were even aware that I finished my September designers challenge AND Wrote up the pattern AND got it tested AND am currently making the page for it on Ravelry as I wait for just a sniffle more info from a tester (Sniffle = Triffle =Smidgen =itsy bit) …aren’t you proud of me?

Pretty, Huh?

Just in case youd like to know, the challenge was to create a:

Theme:Patterns in Nature
Technique:Rows of sc

You should really see the gorgeous yarn this month here!

I’m just finishing up testing and you can expect me to edit this post to add a link sometime tomorrow!

Now I’m fairly sure thats all there is for now, Ttfn!

Adam Ant – Prince Charming

Keeping up

Horrah I’m going good on my promise for every day of posting so far!

Now I don’t think I ever showed you my June/July Designers Challenge entry, did I? Well here It is, I call it Flowers and Folds.

A front view (The back is exactly the same)

The challenge was to design a Top, with Stripes, and an Oragami theme. Well I most certainly have stripes on this top and the flowers on the bottom were modeled after oragami flowers I saw ๐Ÿ™‚ .

I absolutely love the website Pinterest. I made a board here of all of my inspirations for this and that made it so much easier to remember everything.

Oh, before I forget I wnated to say something about this months designers challenge! You can of course see it here on Ravelry (Which you should because the prize yarn is beautiful), but I like to put it here too.

Object: stuffie
Theme: birds
Technique: using less than one skein

I was thinking of making a pidgeon scince they usually aren’t considered the most elegant of birds and aren’t that inspirational (aside from those pidgeon childrens books which are, undeniably, very cute).

Have I mentioned that I’ve taken up painting recently? I’m not terribly good but I’m hoping to learn more as I go, Perhaps I’ll take some pictures of some of the things I’ve done to show you ๐Ÿ˜‰ .

Ah well I’m afraid thats all for now but I’ve decided to give you some music in each of my posts at the end now. This is one by David Bowie called ‘The Man Who Sold The World’, It’s been done by many other people and groups since including Nirvana who are very good too but none shall surpass David Bowie.

Long time, no see!

Wow. My last post was…months ago! I almost forgot about my blog! ah well, nothing exciting’s happened anyway…I’m in a new test crochet for a baby’s viking hat(too cute btw)a new designers challenge is up(ideas to be in next post) ooh and I have one new thing to show you ๐Ÿ™‚

My new coasters! Theres the Eye and two koala heads ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m putting out the pattern on Tuesday on Ravelry(no test crochet needed!)ย  My 18th pattern ๐Ÿ™‚

St.Patrick’s Day! It’s coming round the bend with all the leprechon’s prepared to whack you over the head with a sheleighly sticks(they are very temper-mental you know). So the question is…How are you really supposed to celebrate Saint Patrick?

Well, the one thing that has never failed me on a holiday is (a) Candy and (b) Decorations and nothing says, “Welcome, you crazy leprechon’s!” like four-leafed clovers!

When I was really little, I thought that it was three-leafed clovers that were the lucky ones and I could never understand why everyone always had such a hard time finding them! ๐Ÿ™‚

So, now that I know that I should have been looking for four leaves, I’m going to make some to try and draw the little green Irish in my direction ๐Ÿ˜‰ tonight I think I’ll make a clover chain to replace my Halloween paper chain that now swings atop my door ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ll be using Julie Kundhi’s wonderful tiny four-leaf clovers pattern on Ravelry and joining them all with a chain ๐Ÿ™‚ (this is where most of my creativity both begins and ends)

Look around and try to find the little greenies, they love to hide all around and study us you know ๐Ÿ™‚

Challenge, Shmallenge!

^^^^^^I’ve completed my designer’s challenge as you can see ^^^^^^

Yippee, yippee!!! I’m putting pics up in the group as we speak…talk…type? Ah well you get the point!

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  I will be, fairly soon, posting a “Call for Testers”(that sounds so official) in the Free Pattern Testers group on Ravelry if anyone is in the mood to test and are really really forgetful, feel free to use my contact info here, to reach me and I’ll remind you when I set up the thread ๐Ÿ˜€

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  While we(meaning me) are on this topic, I’ll take this opportunity to bore you to death with lots of words with pretty pictures in between ;-D

I used a really…erm…well…different(?) technique for the “Blocking” part of the challenge

ย  I used stones to “full” the top of the mitten because I thought it looked a bit…Blauh before that ๐Ÿ™‚

I wanted to add all sorts of little details to the mittens but that just made it impossible to finish! I wanted to have little windows and doorways and criss-crossy designs all over but then I remembered that I couldn’t with crochet :-/ So please imagine that these are the most intricate of intricate mittens that you’ve ever seen just to make me feel better ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you so much for looking ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ :-/ ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
